Don’t get me wrong. I love my nail polish. But I also love hiking through muddy mangrove forests or across barely-frozen lakes. That I do both of these things while being female doesn’t mean one defines me anymore than the other. I dig science. I dig make-up. I don’t dig sexism dressed up like academic advocacy.
